Straighten Your Smile with Invisalign Clear Aligners

Invisalign provides a discreet alternative to traditional braces for alignment issues such as crowding, gapped teeth, crossbites, overbites, open bites, and underbites. This technique uses clear, removable tray aligners that are custom-made for your teeth.

Rather than attending orthodontic appointments to have wires and brackets adjusted, Invisalign wearers have checkups to monitor their progress and to switch out aligners for the next stage of the treatment plan.

Invisalign is a popular orthodontic option for teens and adults interested in the nearly invisible design and the convenience of removable trays. Learn more about Invisalign below, or request a free consultation with Dr. Caley and the team to discuss Invisalign for you or your child.

How Does
Invisalign Work?

Invisalign uses clear aligners, which are custom-designed for your treatment plan, that offer a subtle, removable option for correcting alignment issues.

Invisalign treatment uses a series of clear aligners that gradually shift your teeth into the desired alignment. You’ll need to wear the aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day to stay on schedule with your treatment plan.

Invisalign for Teens

Invisalign treatment offers teens a more discreet and convenient option. With clear aligners, your teen isn’t restricted to what they can eat, and their nearly invisible look keeps their orthodontics subtle for school and extracurriculars.

In addition to the convenience of the removable aligners, Invisalign can offer a more comfortable experience and reduce the number of orthodontic appointments. This makes it easier for your teen to complete their orthodontic treatment while balancing a busy school, sports, or other extracurricular schedule.

Invisalign for Adults

Many adults prefer the discreet nature of Invisalign compared to traditional metal braces. For many orthodontic cases, Invisalign can straighten teeth and correct alignment issues without other braces or appliances.

The removable aligners make it easier to brush and floss your teeth during treatment and reduce dietary limitations. Orthodontic insurance covers certain procedures, and we can discuss both our expectations for the treatment and the coverage you have during your free consultation with us.

The Invisalign
Treatment Process

We’ll guide you or your teen through the Invisalign process from start to finish. Your treatment will begin with a free consultation, which allows Dr. Caley to assess your teeth and determine if Invisalign matches your needs.

From there, our team will design a treatment process personalized to your orthodontic needs. This includes how long the treatment will take, how many aligners you need, and how frequently you’ll change from one set of aligners to the next.

At your initial consultation, Dr. Caley will examine your teeth, bite alignment, and jaw. Then, we’ll discuss your orthodontic needs and evaluate whether Invisalign is the right choice for you.

We will use the iTero® digital scanner to create a 3D digital model of your teeth. Using this model, we can map out a treatment plan and predict the movement of your teeth at each stage. This helps us to determine how long your treatment will be. It also allows you to preview your new smile.

Your custom-made aligners are made of Invisalign’s proprietary SmartTrack® material. They’re virtually invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.

You should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day to keep your treatment plan on schedule. Remove them only to eat, brush, and floss, and make sure to clean your teeth before inserting them.

The number of aligners and how frequently you change them will be determined by your unique treatment plan. Typically, you’ll switch aligners every 1–2 weeks, with appointments every 6 weeks or so to monitor your progress and give you the next aligners in your plan.

Once your treatment is complete, we’ll recommend that you wear a retainer for some time to maintain your new alignment. We fit Vivera® retainers, which are custom-made using the same technology as Invisalign clear aligners.
